Pizza Express is taking its restaurant offering beyond traditional dining rooms with the launch of a new hot food-to-go concept at Thorpe Park in the UK.
The pizza brand has partnered with Merlin Entertainments and Aramark to serve freshly prepared, single-serve pizzas during Thorpe Park’s Fright Nights event, running from October 2 to November 1. The pizzas are prepared and served from a branded Airstream, with Pizza Express saying orders can be ready in less than a minute.
The initial menu includes popular options such as Margherita, American, BBQ Chicken and Sloppy Giuseppe, giving visitors a familiar restaurant-style meal without requiring a sit-down experience.
The move is part of a wider expansion of Pizza Express into faster and more flexible food formats. The company has already been developing quick-service locations and other partnerships, including serving its pizza at 30,000 feet on Aer Lingus flights.
For the wider foodservice industry, the Thorpe Park launch reflects a growing opportunity for established restaurant brands to take their products into high-footfall environments such as attractions, transport hubs and retail locations.
Pizza Express says the Thorpe Park launch is only the beginning, with additional food-to-go locations planned.
